Carter, Frances May:
On Sunday, December 17, 2017 Frances May
Carter (nee Ellis) went home to be with her Lord and Savour in her
100th year. She passed away peacefully at the
Mira Truro, surrounded by her loving family. Frances was predeceased
by her beloved husband Lorne (1991) of 53 years; sisters, Edie
Angevine, Gladys Archibald (Ron), and Elva Isner (Don); brothers, Earl
(Rena), Vernon (Margie), and Ralph Ellis; son-in-law, Delbert Allison
(2014). Frances leaves behind a family who loved and adored her. She
is survived by daughter, Ruth Allison; sons, George (Sandra), Ralph
(Lesley), and Danny (Toni); 10 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren,
and many nieces and nephews. Frances along with her late husband, were
chartered members of the Peoples Church, Truro. She was a very active
member playing the organ and piano, teaching Sunday School, and
helping where ever needed. She was also an active member of The
Gideon’s Ladies Auxiliary. The family would like to thank
the Mira staff for their compassion, and friendship to Frances, and
the tender loving care they provided. She is the last of her
generation, and will be sadly missed. Arrangements have been entrusted
to the Mattatall ~ Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street Truro, where
visitation will be held 6 to 7 pm, Thursday, December 28, 2017,
immediately followed by funeral service at 7 pm, Pastor Ken Fillmore
officiating. Reception to follow in the funeral home. Interment to be
held at a later date in the Brookfield Eastside Cemetery, Brookfield,
NS. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Gideons or
charity of your choice. Private messages of condolence can be sent to
