Fiore Filomena, beloved husband of Giovanna passed away peacefully with his family by his side at the age of 83 years.
Fiore is survived by his wife of 58 years, Giovanna; three children, daughters, Ada (Cory) Mulgrove and Lena Dean; son, Fiorenzo (Claire) Filomena; six grandchildren, Melissa (Tayte), Brent, Natalia (Andre), Paulena, Julia and Daniel; and one great-grandson, Ramsey. Fiore is also survived by his loving brother, Antonio Filomena; loving sister, Grazia De Paola; and brother-in-law, Frank Zoldan. Fiore will be missed by numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends. Fiore was predeceased by his parents, Anna and Pasquale; son, Pasquale; sisters, Lucia and Maria; brother, Vincenzo; sister-in-law, Concetta; and brother-in-law, Pietro.
Fiore was a kind-hearted man who loved spending time with family and friends, meeting new people and was always prone to strike up a conversation with most anyone, making many new “friends” along the way. He will always be in our hearts and thoughts, and will be missed greatly; love you Fiore.
We would like extend a warm thank you to Dr. Dale Lien for his wonderful care of our father during his illness, and to also thank Dr. Damant and the nursing staff of 5E3 at the University of Alberta Hospital, and the staff at Rosedale Villa.
Prayer Service Friday, July 21 at 8:00 p.m. at Santa Maria Goretti Roman Catholic Church, 9110 – 110 Avenue, Edmonton.
Funeral Mass Saturday, July 22 at 9:30 a.m. at Santa Maria Goretti Roman Catholic Church. Reverend George Puramadathil CFIC officiating with interment in St. Michael’s Cemetery.
