Elsie Gwendolyn McGean of Fredericton, NB, wife of the late Ambrose McGean passed away suddenly on Thursday, December 21, 2017 at the Oromocto Public Hospital. Born on October 16, 1929 in Glace Bay, NS, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Gladys (Grant) Gledhill. Elsie was a bookkeeper starting her career at the age of sixteen working for the Eaton’s Company; she also worked at Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital in Admissions. Her greatest accomplishment was being a wonderful mother and grandmother.

Elsie is survived by her sons, Grant McGean (Wendy) and Paul McGean (Barb);

grandchildren, Holly (Ashley) and Matthew (Nicole); great grandchildren, Katie, Jordan and Brendan; two sisters, Dorothy and Sylvia; brother, Joe Gledhil1

Born: October 16, 1929 Death: December 21, 2017

(Marilyn); son in law, Larry; special friends, Courtenay and Charlene. Besides

her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her daughter, Lynn.

Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Sunday, December 24, 2017 from 10-11 am followed by the funeral service at 11 am with Rev. Paul Ranson officiating. Interment will take place in Scotch Settlement Cemetery at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Salvation Army or the charity of the donor’s choice. Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
