SWENSON, Alzbeth (Elizabeth) (nee Schnuerer)
June 11th, 1924 – November 13th, 2017
It is with great joy, gone to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus which she loved so much, at the age of 93 years. Born June 11th, 1924 in Handlova, Czechoslovakia. Immigrated to Canada at the age of 6 years on the Lutzow Ship landing in Nova Scotia March 1st, 1931 with her mother Maria (Mary), brother Pavel (Paul), and sister Julia. By train they moved to Mapova, Alberta where her dad resided from Handlova, Czech, 3 years earlier to farm and mine.
She is deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her surviving children, Eileen of Rochester, AB, Marie (Cliff) of Merville, BC, Diane of Vegreville, AB, Harold of Vergreville, AB, Dennis of Burns Lake, BC, David (Pam) of Spruce Grove, AB and sister-in-law Bill of Stony Plain, AB.
Predeceased by her husband, Henry in 1998, Father Paul in 1957, Mother Maria (Mary) in 1978, sister Julia in 1976, brother Paul 1981, brother John in 1991, brother Joseph in 1996, sisters Clara 2004 and Elsie in 2007, Mary in 2008, Rosie in 2017, sister-in-law Rose in 1993, brother-in-laws Les in 1991, Amos 1995, Thomas in 1986, Ted in 2000 and grandchild Calvin in 1996.
Survived by sister Annie, Sister-in-laws Betty Jean and Hazel, brother-in-laws Kenneth and Fred. She has 16 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and 9 great great grandchildren. She believed in an eternal God. She made his presence in her daily walk. She knew God’s care was certain, his promises dependable and his love unexplainable. She will be so deeply missed and in our hearts forever until we meet again in God’s House. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, November 18th, 2017 2:00 p.m. in the Thorhild Living Waters Church with Pastor Dawid Resandt officiating with interment in the Mopova Roman Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations gratefully accepted to Wesleyan Church c/o 10004 – 105 Street, Westlock, AB T7P 1V2. Westlock Funeral Home & Crematorium Ltd. 780-349-3474.
