Obituary of Elaine Gee
Elaine, late of Regina, SK formally of Regina Beach, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 30, 2017. She is survived by her loving husband of 63 years Wilf; her children, Susan (Tim) of Vancouver, BC, Sherry (Leif) of New Westminster, BC, Trevor (Kiyo) of Burnaby, BC; and her six grandchildren, Justine and Lauren, Hannah and Aidan, Kyle and Evan. Elaine was a graduate of the Regina General Hospital nursing school (class of 1953) where she worked for 30 years before retiring in 1986. Elaine had many interests but her great love was her time spent at Regina Beach with her flowers, friends, love of birds and the ever present wildlife. Her children on the coast received many pictures of deer and raccoons that provided entertainment on the front deck of her Regina Beach home. She enjoyed her time as president of the Regina Beach arts and crafts association, travelling and birding around the Qu’Appelle Valley, cooking, knitting and crafting many, many items for her family. Elaine and Wilf were fortunate to travel the world particularly enjoying their time in Egypt and Scotland. She loved a visit to the casino where she approached a slot machine with a steely eye, prairie grit and determination and always had great fun! The family is very grateful to Dr. Stephen Bester for his care over the years and to the nurses of Ward 5A of the Regina General Hospital. In keeping with Elaine’s wishes, there will be no service. A family Celebration of Life will be held in Vancouver following Thanksgiving. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Elaine to the Regina Humane Society, Box 3143 Stn Main, Regina, SK, S4P 3G7.
