Obituary Overview
In Loving Memory
The family of Edwin W. Crandall are saddened to announce his passing at Gables Lodge on Sunday, December 24, 2017, at the age of 78.
Born in Kentville, he was the son of the late Walter and Clara (Richardson) Crandall.
Ed worked at various sales jobs and was a business owner for a period of time selling and installing satellite dishes in Amherst. Ed was involved with the Amherst Lions Club for 18 years and was awarded Lion of the Year in 2013. He was also a member of the Amherst Legion. He was heavily involved in amateur radio and enjoyed teaching others about it. Ed loved to fish and the great outdoors and his pets were a source of great joy.
He was a devoted husband and father to his children, Derrick (Cathy), Point de Bute, Terry (Trina) Truemanville, Annette (Donnie) Wolfe, Amherst and Darren (April) Dartmouth. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 4 great- grandchildren; 2 nieces in Kentville; and good friends Dave (Jean) Harrison.
Ed was pre-deceased by his wife Barbara (Clarke), brother Max Crandall.
A graveside service will be held in the spring at Warren Cemetery.
A celebration of Ed’s life will be held on Friday, December 29, 2017 from 1 – 3 pm at the Amherst Lions Club.
Donations can be made in Ed’s memory to the L.A. Animal Shelter or to the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
