Edward Ed Harold Strugnell – 2017

Edward “Ed” Harold Strugnell
It is with great sadness that we announce
the passing of Edward “Ed” Harold Strugnell on
Sunday February 12, 2017. Born in Moncton on May 11, 1940, Ed was the
oldest son of the late Harold Gilbert Strugnell and the late Wava
Gerdella (Carter) Strugnell. In addition to his parents, Ed was
predeceased by his step-mothers Ada Winifred (O’Keefe)
Strugnell and Shirley Strugnell as well as his only brother
David. Ed was the last surviving member of his immediate
family.
Ed is survived by his son Stephen, daughters Roxanne
Strugnell and Tina LeBlanc, grandchildren Amanda and Robin Strugnell
and André LeBlanc as well as great-grandson Jonah LeBlanc,
all of Moncton.
Ed was an employee of the Moncton Times and Transcript for
thirty-five years. He was a member of St. George’s
Anglican Church, Moncton. In Ed’s early years he
enjoyed the guidance of Rector J. J. Alexander, Archdeacon of the
church. Ed loved music, curling and chatting with the many folks he
came into contact with in his Newton Heights
neighbourhood.
Friends and family are invited to pay their respects at
Fergusons Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, (858-1995) Moncton on
Thursday, February 16, 2017 from 6:00 to 8:00
pm. To honour Ed’s wishes,
there will be no funeral service. Ed has also requested that no
flowers be sent. Interment to be held will be held at
Elmwood Cemetery, in the spring.
In memory of Ed, donations to the New Brunswick Heart and
Stroke Foundation would be appreciated. Online condolences
