Donald Joseph Rossiter
1944-2017
Donald Joseph Rossiter, 72, of Lower Coverdale
passed away suddenly on November 19th, 2017 in his sleep at his
home.
Donald was born in Dieppe on December 17, 1944 the son of
the late Donahue Rossiter and Bertha (Cormier) Rossiter of Lower
Coverdale.
He worked for Canada Post in the Main Street store for
several years. Last he worked with his son Greg and brother
Jim at Brunswick Drywall until his retirement. He
loved antiques and you could find him out at the garage sales every
weekend finding his many treasures. He also had a love of
antique cars. In his younger years he enjoyed hunting and being
outdoors. He enjoyed watching the NASCAR races and was a loyal fan at
the Petty Raceway trying never to miss the stockcar races.
Donald will be remembered for his contagious laugh and his
great sense of humour. He will live on in our
hearts forever.
He will be deeply missed by his mother, Bertha; devoted
wife, Brenda (Butland) Rossiter; daughter, Valerie Rossiter-Hartley of
Moncton; sons, Greg Rossiter (Tamara) of Riverview and Andrew Rossiter
(Meghan) of Riverview; daughter-in-law, Sherry Wright of Germantown;
sisters, Brenda Richard (Bernie) of Lower Coverdale, Cathy Field
(Peter) of Lower Coverdale; brothers, Jim Rossiter (Connie) of Lower
Coverdale and David Rossiter of Hillsborough; his treasured
grandchildren, Cody, Cara (Aaron), Courtney (Mullai) and
Cole. He will also be missed by the mother of his children,
Judy Rossiter of Riverview; several nieces and nephews; and
by all his extended family.
He was predeceased by his father, Donahue and by step-son,
Douglas Wright.
He will be resting at the Albert County Funeral Home with
visitation on Wednesday evening from 5-8pm. The funeral
service will be held at the Albert County Funeral Home on Thursday,
November 23rd, 2017 at 2:00pm with Rev. Ken Rains
officiating. Immediately following the service the
family will be meeting for further sharing of memories and for
refreshments. Interment will be held at the Fair Haven
Memorial Gardens, Moncton at a later date.
