Ryer, Donald Alton, 86, of Port Clyde, Shelburne County died November 13, 2017 at the Yarmouth Regional Hospital. Born in Port Clyde on January 06, 1931, he was a son of the late William and Edith (Hatt) Ryer. He was the last living heir of his siblings. He had been employed by R.E. Pinkham Garage, worked on the construction of the Cape Sable Island Causeway, worked on the Railroad and was employed at C.F.S. Baccaro until his retirement. After his retirement he continued with his farming and woodsmanship. Donald is survived by sons, Ernest (Debbie), Port Clyde, Wayne (Marie), Stoney Island; daughters, Doreen Ryer, Jordan Branche, Elaine (David) Garron, Grand Prairie, Alberta, Maxine (David) Krafve, North East Point; grandchildren, Loraine, Melissa, Tanya, Gina, Patricia, James, Jermey, Angel, Bradford, Steven, Alexus, Frank, Felicia; great grandchildren, Sammy, Leanna, Bubby, Nicky, Vincent, Noah, Jaylyn, Michael. He was predeceased by his wife, Barbara Ann (Clattenburg); twin brother, Ronald; brother, Earl; sisters, Muriel, Beatrice. Visitation will be 7-9p.m., Wednesday and 7-9p.m., Thursday at the H. M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home, Barrington. Funeral service will be 2p.m., Friday from the H.M. Huskilson’s Memorial Chapel, Barrington, Pastor Jeff Peters officiating.. Burial will be in the Port Clyde Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Nova Scotia Lung Association, Nova Scotia Kidney Association or charity of your choice.
