December 19, 1953 – July 13, 2017
We are heart-broken to announce the passing of Al DesRoche on July 13, 2017 at the Sarcee Hospice in Calgary, AB after a courageous battle with cancer. Al was born in Summerside, PEI on December 19, 1953 to Ralph and Helen DesRoche and lived on the Island with his nine siblings and parents until he moved out West in his early twenties. In Calgary he met Wilma, the love of his life and best friend. Together with Wilma, Al spent many years owning and operating seismic drilling rigs and building their dream home property where he loved having his family and friends gather for a party.
Al will be deeply missed by his loving wife, Wilma and his large family; his father Ralph; his siblings Sheila Sexton of Borden-Carleton, PEI, Marlene Spencer of Charlottetown, PEI, Ivan (Sue) of MacKenzie, BC, LoraLee (Robert) Madsen of Calgary, AB, Kim (Brent) Gregory of Standard, AB, Natalie (Larry) Allen of Borden-Carleton, PEI, Lana (Blair) Green of Searletown, PEI, Floyd (Christine) of Standard, AB, and Trent (Tanya) of Borden-Carleton, PEI; numerous nieces and nephews; and many friends near and far. Al was predeceased by his mother, Helen, his mother-in-law, Audrey Parkman and his brothers-in-law, Andrew Sexton and Billy Spencer.
At Al’s request, a private family Celebration of Life will be held. At a later date a “shop party” will be planned to give Al’s extended family and many friends the opportunity to celebrate in his memory.
Condolences may be left for the family at www.cochranecountryfuneralhome.com. Arrangements in care of Cochrane Country Funeral Home 403-932-1039.
