MINHINNETT (nee Smith), Delores (Del) Etteline
February 13, 1932 – May 6, 2017
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Delores Minhinnett on Saturday May 6, 2017 at the age of 85. Del will be lovingly remembered by her loving family, brother, Bill (Carol) Smith and family of Oregon, USA; son, Glen Minhinnett of Olds; daughter, Marlene (Tom) Aubrey-Dawson of Mayerthorpe; daughter-in-law, Marilea (Norm) McCaw of Balzac; grandchildren, Chris Minhinnett of Balzac, Kari (Ben) Carduff of Vulcan AB, Amanda Aubrey of Mayerthorpe and Deon (Kevin) Eicchorn of Edson; along with her most treasured great grandchildren, Koby and Bailey Minhinnett, Jaret and Emilea Carduff, Pacen Jager, Addisyn Keough and Jayda and Jace Eicchorn as well as many other relatives and friends.Del was predeceased by her loving husband, Tom; parents, Harry Smith and Pauline (Robert) Brown as well as her son-in-law, Leon Audrey.
Del was employed at the Canadian Western Gas Company and spent many years after staying connected with the women whose friendships she cherished. She was actively involved in the Balzac United Church and loved to donate her time-sharing recipes in the church cook books and baking for special events. She was always active in the community and enjoyed visiting with her dear friends and family. Del’s family would like to thank Kathy her caregiver, for the months of continuous care and compassion shown, as well as the staff of the Rockyview and Peter Lougheed Hospitals for all they have done. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Del’s memory to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Calgary Children’s Hospital. No memorial has been planned as per the request of Del.
