Obituary for Davis Kon Siong Chong
Davis Kon Siong Chong, 84, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 31, 2017 surrounded by his loving family. Davis was born on June 10, 1933 in Kinarut, Malaysia. He was an active member of the community who played snooker at Dogwood Pavilion, fished at Como Lake, and attended church every Sunday. He really appreciated and praised the food people made for him and kept in constant contact with friends and family in Canada and overseas through WhatsApp and cell phone. Davis is survived by his children & their spouses: Christine & Ernst, Michael & Angela, Madeleine & Alan; his grandchildren: Nicole, Erich, Michelle, Alex, Brendan, Ethan, Ryan; and is pre-deceased by his wife Rosalind.Public visitation will be held on Sunday, November 5th from 2:00-5:00 PM at Bell & Burnaby Funeral Chapel, 4276 Hastings Street, Burnaby, BC.Funeral service will be celebrated on Monday, November 6th at 11:00 AM at St. John the Apostle Anglican Church, 2208 St. John’s Street, Port Moody, BC with the Rev. Stephanie Shepard officiating. Reception will follow the service at the church hall.Davis will be laid to rest on Monday, November 6th at 2:30 PM in the Garden of Hope section of Ocean View Burial Park, 4000 Imperial Street, Burnaby, BC.
Donations may be made in Davis’s name to the Eagle Ridge Hospital Foundation, 475 Guildford Way, Port Moody, B.C. V3H 3W9.
