It is with great sadness that the family of Darlene Scarrett announce her passing May 16, 2017 at the age of 78 years. Darlene is lovingly remembered by her husband of 56 years, Edward; son Ross; and numerous other family members and friends. She was predeceased by her parents Ross and Marie Nichol.
Born in Regina, Saskatchewan, Darlene worked in the hospitality industry as a bookkeeper. After many years of work, when she moved on to the next chapter in her life, she always said she… never retired, she was just tired. Darlene had a quick wit, a great sense of humour and she could make anyone laugh with her. She took great delight in camping, always enjoying the animals that she loved, and she could be found with her family and friends in her favorite spots most summer weekends.
She will always be remembered as a beautiful, loving, caring lady who was liked by everyone she came into contact with. She will be incredibly missed by all.
In keeping with Darlene’s wishes, no formal funeral service will be held. As an alternative to flowers the family requests that donations be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation (www.heartandstroke.ca) or the Diabetes Canada (www.diabetes.ca).
