Constance “Doreen” Jean Farquharson (nee Johnston) was
born in New River, on January 18, 1931. She entered Heaven’s
gates on October 21, 2017.
A loving mother, grandmother and aunt she lived for her family and the
joy of having them around her. Always active in her community, time
spent with her close friend and neighbour, as well as the ladies of
her Quilting Circle brought much enjoyment to her life. During her
retirement years, her love of long walks on the beach, reading and
crossword puzzles entertained her as she lived out her days
comfortably in her home at New River Beach.
Doreen was predeceased by her loving husband of 40 years, Ian (Rufus)
Farquharson. She was also predeceased by her son Glendon W.
Farquharson. Doreen is survived by her two daughters Nancy (Doug)
Wilson, Saint John, Susan (Gregor Price) Farquharson, Pocologan, and
two sons Ian, New River and Andrew, St. George. She is also survived
by five grandchildren, Trisha (Eric) Boucher, Sari (Matt Spinney)
Lomax, Leopold (Jennifer) Morin, Lynzie Farquharson and Patrick Bowles
as well as her great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Friday, October 27, 2017 from 12:00
… 2:00 PM at United Baptist Church, Beaver Harbour Road. A
funeral service celebrating her life will immediately follow.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations in her memory be
made to the Charlotte County SPCA.
“If we have been united together in the likeness of His death,
certainly we also shall be in the likeness of His resurrection”
(Romans 6:5)
