Carol Hauschild
On Saturday, December 23rd, the world lost a light and source of kindness that will be felt forever. Carol Gayle Hauschild died unexpectedly in her sleep. She will be missed forever by her husband, Clarence Hauschild, daughter, Josi Hauschild (Bryce Coutts) and two grandchildren, Anna and Reid as well as countless cousins and friends who have become family.
Carol was born on February 8th, 1947. In her 70 years on this earth, she impacted so many lives. She loved to feed people, especially perogies. In the days before her death, she made sure the house was stocked with more food than the fridge and freezers could hold. Christmas was her favorite holiday. She had two Christmas trees up in their small home, and an abundance of presents that her grandbabies would love (with total disregard for how noisy, messy and annoying they were for anyone else).
She lived her life without hesitation. She was quick to express her feelings, and take in strangers and show them love like they were family. She let her grandchildren use glitter unsupervised. Her free spirit will guide us to love with no abandon, savour moments, and lead with kindness for the rest of our lives.
A Celebration of her Life will be held at Hillcrest Funeral Home (East on 8th St.; first right past Briargate Rd.) on Saturday, December 30th with viewing at 2pm and a brief service at 2:30pm. In lieu of flowers, please pass a random act of kindness onto someone.
