1932-2017
It is with profound sadness that we
announce the death of Mrs. Beverly Joan Brown, born August 21, 1932.
She passed away very peacefully on Monday, November 20, 2017 at Prince
County Hospital, Summerside, Prince Edward Island. She was surrounded
by her family: sons Matthew and Jim Brown, daughter Jennifer Moland,
son-in-law Mark Moland, and her grandchildren Sadie and Aidan Moland.
Her late husband Dr. Ian Wilson Brown may have been there in spirit as
well. She loved her family, four-legged creatures included, but
wasn’t defined only by them. She had a Fine Arts degree from
Pratt Institute in New York City and she put it to good use for many
years working at the Art Gallery of Algoma in Sault Ste. Marie,
Ontario. She also “fought the good fight” for several years
on the Sault Ste. Marie Board of Education. We haven’t just
lost our mother—we’ve lost our best friend and the
central load-bearing support of the family. She will be greatly missed
by so many, as everyone who met her appreciated her intelligence,
tolerance and warmth. Donations can be made to the New London Fire
Department or the Prince County Hospital Foundation. A private family
service will be held next summer. Arrangements entrusted to the
Davison Funeral Home, Kensington. www.davisonfh.com
