Barrie Roy Baker 2017

2017
Baker, Barrie – (1939- 2017) It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Barrie Roy Baker after a brief but courageous battle with brain cancer.
At his side and left to mourn is his beloved wife Miriam. He leaves behind his children Thomas (Shelley) and Robert (Jackie) as well as his grandson Ryan Baker and granddaughter Emily Baker.
Barrie was the son of the late Katherine and Glenn Baker.
He is survived by his loving sisters Margo McMillan (Albert), Brenda Cooper and Deirdre Roach (Robert). He will be sadly missed by several nieces and nephews.
Barrie served 25 years in the RCAF and upon his retirement spent 30 years driving coach and school bus. He was a proud supporter of minor hockey and was past President of North Bay Minor Hockey. He was a dyed in the wool Toronto Maple Leafs and Blue Jays fan.
Barrie left his mark on all who knew him. He went out of his way to tell a joke or stories to brighten the day of whoever he interacted with. His wit and good humour is ingrained in all who knew him.Family and friends will remember him with many fond memories for years to come.
As per his wishes there will be no visitation. A private graveside service will be held in the spring.
Donations to the Nipissing Serenity Hospice in memory of Barrie will be gratefully acknowledged by his family.
