Obituary of Anahit Darderian
DARDERIAN, Anahit “Anna” (nee Papazian) –
Peacefully at Brierwood Gardens on Wednesday, December 13, 2017 in her 99th year. Beloved wife of the late Jack Darderian. Cherished aunt of Mayda Oskan (Jack) and Mike Gobelian (Arpi). Lovingly remembered by her great-nieces and nephews Arthur, Walter and Renee; dear sister-in-law Margo Lapides and Lucy Papazian; dear friend of Harry Serabian and extended family and friends in Turkey. Anna is predeceased by her sister Alice Gobelian (John) and brother Vahe Papazian. Anahit was born in Istanbul, Turkey where she attended the conservatory, completing her degree in opera and achieving Soprano. She loved to travel, and in 1965 came to Canada as a tourist where she met the love of her life, Jack. Family and friends will be received at the McCLEISTER FUNERAL HOME, 495 Park Rd. North on Friday, December 22, 2017 from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel at 12:00 p.m. followed by interment in Mt. Hope Cemetery. If wished, memorial donations to Grace Anglican Church would be gratefully appreciated. Special memories and condolences may be forwarded to the family through www.mccleisterfuneralhome.ca
