Allan Sidney Rand passed away peacefully December 20, 2017 at the age of 95 years. He will be remembered and sadly missed by his children Dianne (Allan) Mann, Cheryl Stringer, Debby (Charles) Ayling, Bryan (Lis) Rand, Kevin (Terry) Rand, and Maureen Rand (Bruce Rich); 17 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren; and siblings Stan, Freddie, and Elsie. He was predeceased by his wife of 65 years, Betty, son Wayne Allan, and son-in-law Roger Stringer.
Al was dedicated to his loving large family. He enjoyed playing cribbage and cards and could always be found building something in his workshop. He loved playing the fiddle and traveling with Betty in the early years. He was a lifetime member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 22 and served in WWII. Al enjoyed many years of retirement after working for CIL for 30 years. He was loved dearly by his large family. ‘Poppa’ will be sadly missed. You are forever in our hearts.
Interment will take place in Canyon View Cemetery, Summerland, BC.
