Passed peacefully away at the Caribou Memorial Veterans Pavilion, St. John’s, December, 25th, 2016, Alex Baird of Long Pond, in his 88th year. Korean War Veteran. He is predeceased by his twin brother, Samuel, parents Alex and Mary Baird, brother Bill, sister Wilmot and sister-in-law Dallas. He is survived by brothers, Alonzo, Warrick and Fred, sisters, Millicent Dawe, Margaret Lawlor, Pearl Pottle and their families. Special sister-in law Nancy.
A special thanks to the staff of the Caribou Memorial Veteran’s Pavilion for their care and kindness during his time there.
Visitation in the James J. Hickey Memorial Funeral Home, Kelligrews on Tuesday, 2 pm – 4 pm & 7 pm – 9 pm, Wednesday, 10 am – 12 noon. Funeral service to take place in the James J. Hickey Memorial Chapel, Kelligrews on Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at 2 pm. Internment at All Saints Cemetery Dunn’s Hill Rd, Foxtrap. No flowers by request, donations in his memory can be made to PTSD Association or charity of ones choice.
