Alan Michael Childs
Alan Michael Childs, 61, of Moncton and formerly of Whitby,
ON, with his loving family at his side, passed away peacefully at The
Moncton Hospital on Wednesday, January 11, 2017.
Born in Luton Beds, UK, he was the son of Colin Childs and
the late Sheila (Fletcher) Childs. Alan retired as a Telephone
Technician with Bell Canada. He was an avid soccer and hockey fan,
cheering for his Luton Town football team and the Boston
Bruins.
Alan will be remembered as a devoted family man, a great
cook, sharing candy with his grandsons, tending to his amazing garden,
laying in the sun and walking his “canine daughter”,
Abbey.
In addition to his father, Colin, Alan will be sadly missed
by his wife of 35 years, Kathy Childs; daughter, Robyn Childs (Stephen
Scott) of Moncton; grandsons, Chase and Brodie Scott; sister, Susan
Seddon (Wayne) of Whitby, ON; cousin, Yvonne Fletcher of London, UK;
mother-in-law, Fran Graham (late Don); sister-in-law, Peggy Toll
(Dave) of Bracebridge, ON; brother-in-law, John Graham (Jan) of
Alliston, ON; nieces and nephews, Rebecca, Amanda, Jordan, Rod, Kathy,
David and Lindsay; eleven great nieces and nephews and extended family
members in the UK.
Resting at Fergusons Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road,
Moncton (858-1995) on Wednesday from 6:00 to 9:00 pm. A Service to
celebrate and honor Alan’s life will be held at Fergusons
Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, January 19, 2017 at 1:00 pm, with The
Rev’d Douglas Painter officiating. Reception in the Funeral
Home Reception Centre following the service.
A Celebration of Life Service for Alan will be held in Whitby
at a later date.
In memory of Alan, donations to the Friends of The Moncton
Hospital (Palliative Care) or the Canadian Cancer Society would be
