The family announces with great sorrow his death on Monday, March 31, 2025 at the Timmins and District Hospital at the age of 82.
Dear husband of Marion (nee Villeneuve). Loving father of Vicky Leblanc (Rock), John Zagrodnik (Lynne), Perry Zagrodnik (Anne), and Peter Zagrodnik (Michele); cherished grandfather of Jonathan (Colleen), Jennifer, Willem, Mitchell, Alex (Melissa Tarlton), Adam (Taran Bassan), Brandon and Brianna, and great-grandfather of Josie. He is also survived by his brother Stanley (Gloria) along with many nieces, nephews and an extended family.
Ziggy was predeceased by his parents, Stanislaw and Katarzyna Zagrodnik, and by his brother Ted (late Rose) Zagrodnik.
Ziggy had a long career as a mechanic at Kidd Creek Mine-site and finished off his career at the Timmins Airport in the maintenance department. Ziggy loved salvaging not only for himself but for his loved ones along with blueberry picking and family get-togethers.
He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.
The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses of the ICU and Emergency departments at the Timmins and District Hospital for their care and compassion.
The family will receive friends on Monday, May 26, 2025 from 10am to 12pm at LESSARD Funeral and Cremation Centre. A memorial service will be held afterwards at 12pm in the funeral home chapel. Interment at the Timmins Memorial Cemetery, along with a reception in the Lessard Reception Centre. Remembrance donations made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada would be greatly appreciated.
