Woodrow “Woody” Ewan Hynes Obituary
Woodrow “Woody” Ewan Hynes, 60, of Riverview, passed away peacefully at the C.H.U Dumont on Friday, February 21, 2025. Born in Happy Valley- Goose Bay, Labrador, he was the son of the late Calvin and Jean (nee Baker) Hynes.
Woody enjoyed his job where he worked for over 23 years as a Furniture Salesman with Lounsbury Furniture. Woody was a loving husband and brought out the best in everyone. He was a proud Papa, always bringing his grandkids to sport events, trips to the park, biking and always up for an adventure. Woody was a huge hockey fan and big fan of the Moncton Wildcats attending almost every game. Woody was someone you could always count on to help you or lend an ear if you were ever struggling through something.
He will be sadly missed by his loving wife, Karen Hynes (nee Bishop); sons, Bryan Hynes (Elicia) and Stephen Hynes (Sheena); grandchildren, Calvin, Denton, Clodagh and Aksel; brothers, Barrie (Iris), Sandy (Deborah), Larry (Paula) and Paul (Lorna); as well as several nieces, nephews, friends, and his many customers over the years.
A Service to Celebrate and Honour Woody’s life will be held on Monday, February 24, 2025 at 11:00 am from Fergusons Funeral Home Chapel, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (506-858-1995). A reception will follow in the Funeral Home Reception Centre. Interment will be held at Fair Haven Memorial Gardens.
