Winston Barrett Obituary
With deep sadness, we announce the passing of Winston Barrett, who departed this life on May 7, 2025, at Toronto General Hospital. He was 82 years old.
Winston was born in St. Elizabeth, Jamaica, to Agatha and Guy Barrett, and later made Canada his home. He is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years, Merle. He was a proud and loving father to Jrover (Geraldine), Courtney (Anne), and Garth (Michelle), and was predeceased by his beloved son Dayne. He also leaves behind his sister Doreth and brothers Kimel, John, and Hewitt “Temple”.
Winston’s legacy lives on through his seven grandchildren, whom he adored and never missed an opportunity to spoil. He will also be fondly remembered by his many nieces, nephews, cousins, and a wide circle of family and friends who were touched by his warmth and generosity.
A true sports enthusiast, Winston loved cheering on his Toronto Blue Jays and Raptors. His favorite pastimes included playing dominos and tending to his vegetable garden during the summer months. Known for his kindness and willingness to lend a helping hand, Winston brought joy and calm to every space he entered.
So loved, so missed, so very dear. He will be sadly missed.
Rest in peace, loved one.
