It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Winnie Berard at the age of 95 on Wednesday May 07, 2025 with her family by her side.
Winnie was born in Teulon Manitoba on June 08, 1929. She met her future husband Rene in Red Lake Ontario. They were later married in the United Church in Kenora, Ontario on April 08, 1950.
Winnie and Rene moved to Rainy River where they raised their 6 children. While living in Rainy River Winnie was very active in her community. She volunteered at the Rainy River Library, the Senior Centre, the Royal Canadian Legion Ladies Auxiliary, the Rainy River Hospital Auxiliary, Our Lady of Good Counsel Church and helped her many friends and family.
Winnie will be sadly missed by everyone who knew her. She leaves to mourn her children Edward (Brenda), Philip (Joanne) Catherine (Dennis) Denise (Jim), Patricia (Dan), daughter-in- law Brenda, numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Winnie was pre-deceased by her parents Albert and Emily Stevens, her siblings, Lois, Patricia, Jack, Doris, and Ted. Her husband Rene, her oldest son Arthur, and granddaughter Meranda.
Donations in lieu of flowers can be made to Rainy River Hospital Auxiliary.
