Wilma Vince Obituary
Wilma Dorothy Vince (nee Hedman)
August 11, 1924 ~ February 5th, 2025
Wilma Vince, aged 100 years, passed away peacefully on February 5, 2025. Born in Churchbridge, Saskatchewan, she moved to Winnipeg in her teens where she met and married the love of her life, Victor Vince and together they raised their three children Dorothy (Ron), Douglas (Diana), and David.
She was a loving mother and grandmother to Kristy, Kurt, Alan, Kyle, Brianna, Kevin, Tyler and Nicole, and a great grandmother to Alex, Caius, Mason, Andre and Vivian. She was predeceased by brothers Gordon and Melbourn, and sister Emily.
Wilma has always been a trailblazer and an entrepreneur, founding Down Industries in her basement; a Winnipeg business that flourished and at its peak, employed 150 loyal and talented workers. She delighted in spending time with family and friends and with her great sense of humor and quick wit, always kept us laughing.
Wilma lived most of her retired life in Matlock and Gimli, Manitoba, and also had many memorable trips and adventures with her sister Emily and family.
We would like to thank the staff at Country Meadows Personal Care Home in Neepawa for their excellent care.
Wilma always made room at her table; in lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Manitoba Harvest ~ 1085 Winnipeg Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R3E 0S2.
