It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Willis Peddle on May 11, 2025, at G.B. Cross Hospital, at the age of 75.
Born on July 3, 1949, Willis lived a life defined by hard work, integrity, and an unwavering commitment to his family and faith. A proud veteran of the construction industry, Willis contributed his skill and dedication to iconic projects across Canada, including the Hibernia offshore platform and the Montreal Olympic Stadium. His career took him from coast to coast, leaving a legacy of craftsmanship and perseverance. A devoted member of his church, Willis found strength and community in his faith, which guided him throughout his life.
Willis is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years, Audrey, whose love and partnership were the cornerstone of his life. He leaves behind his three cherished children: Brendan (Kim), Natalie (Ronny), and Shane (Theresa), as well as four adored grandchildren: Joshua, Sophie, Bryton, and Carter, who brought him endless joy. He will be missed by his siblings: Bernice (Bruce), Tina (Ray), Valerie, Mona, Linda (Byron), and George (Joan) and a large circle of family and friends.
He was predeceased by his parents, Leonard and Mary, his brothers, Leonard Jr. and Zane, and his sisters, Marie and Ann.
Willis will be remembered for his strong work ethic, his warm sense of humour, and the love he poured into his family and faith. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
A funeral service will be held on May 14, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at the Anglican Church of Hodge’s Cove, with a visitation from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Anglican Church of Hodge’s Cove
