Obituary of William Hughes
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Will, on Saturday, March 15, 2025 at the age of 26. Beloved son of Brian Hughes and Angalina Speelman (Mark). Dear brother of Melina Hanson (Lescoe) and Melanie Speelman. He will be missed by his aunts and uncles Alan &Terry Hughes, Peter & Carrie Apostle and Rob. He will be fondly remembered by his many cousins.
Will was known for his unwavering passion for automobiles, a passion that was felt by all who knew him. Whether it was the roar of an engine, the gleam of a freshly waxed body or the thrill of a long drive, Will lived and breathed cars in every sense. His love for cars went beyond mere admiration; it was a way of life.
He earned an Associate’s Degree from Sault College in Police Studies and a Bachelor’s Degree from LSSU in Criminal Justice. He was hardworking and a dedicated worker. He served as a Crane Operator at Algoma Steel. He held numerous certifications for many cranes and was training on the Shareline.
Will loved attending Greyhound games and car shows with his dad and he shared his love for computers and cars with his mom. He cherished all the time he spent with his parents. Will enjoyed hanging out and gaming on the computer with friends from all over Canada and the USA. He was greatly loved by his family and friends. All those who met Will, always had kind and loving words to describe him.
A private graveside service will be held at Greenwood Cemetery with Rev. Helen Smith officiating. Memorial donations to the charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements entrusted to Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Rd, 705-945-7758).
Will’s legacy will live on through the countless memories we have of him.
He left us too soon. He will be forever loved.
