Peacefully at the Almonte General Hospital on Wednesday, February 5, 2025, with his loving family by his side, Bill Ralph of Carleton Place, formerly of Ottawa, passed away at the age of 82.
Bill was the beloved husband of 57 years to Sharon (née Henderson), cherished father of Robert (Laurie) and Joan (Fred Carpini) and, proud Grandpa to Andrew (Gennesse), Alannah, and Sydney. He will be deeply missed by his siblings, nieces, nephews, and extended family, as well as his many friends.
A distinguished member of the Royal Canadian Navy for 23 years, Bill had a fulfilling career and was immensely proud of his service. He had a second career as a systems analyst in the Federal Government for Revenue Canada for 20 years. In his retirement, he loved spending time with his grandchildren, enjoying fishing trips, and playing rounds of golf with friends.
The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to all the medical professionals who provided care and support over the years.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Service on Wednesday February 12, 2025 at 10:00 a.m at Beechwood Cemetery, Sacred Space, 280 Beechwood Ave, followed by burial in the National Military Section, Ottawa.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to a charity of your choice.
A Tree of Remembrance in Bill’s honour will be planted in the McAlpine Forever Forest, in Vankleek Hill.
