HIMMELMAN, William Albert – Bill passed away at Afton Park Place on Monday, January 13, 2025, at the age of 94. Beloved husband of Reta Zochowski. Dear father of Lisa Cook (Stephen), Matthew Himmelman (Lisa) and John Himmelman. Loving papa of Aaron Cook and Sarah Cook. Step-father of Scott Zochowski and Brian Zochowski. Predeceased by 1st wife Lois, parents Capt. William and Amy Himmelman and brother Rev. Donald Himmelman. Bill was born in Rose Bay, Nova Scotia and graduated from Acadia University with his B.Sc. (Hon) in 1952 and came to Sarnia. He worked as a research chemist at Imperial Oil for 16 years before accepting a position at Lambton College as a professor of physics and chemistry. During his time at the college, he received his masters in Environmental Sciences from U.W.O. in 1975. Bill also spent time as an environmental engineering consultant in Brazil and Dubai. In his retirement, Bill enjoyed caring for his furry friends, looking after his bird sanctuary and spending time in his garden.
A private family graveside service will be held at Lakeview Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to the McKenzie & Blundy Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 519-344-3131.
