William Stewart Renfrew Obituary
William Stewart Renfrew, 84, of Kingston ON, died February 4, 2025. “Stewart” Renfrew, son of William and Mary Renfrew, loving husband of Janet Louise Renfrew, passed away February 4 2025 at the Bayshore transitional care unit in Amherstview, ON after suffering a stroke. He is survived by his wife Janet and his two children Carmen and Mark. He is also survived by one grandchild.
Stewart went to McMaster University, followed by the University of Leeds in 1988 where he received his Masters of Arts in Bibliography, Publishing and Textual Studies. Stewart spent most of his years of work as an archivist for Queen’s University.
He loved reading, listening to classical music and taking his dog on long walks. Stewart was a mentor and great friend to all of his wife’s siblings. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
The family will be accepting visitors at James Reid Funeral Home, 1900 John Counter Blvd, on Tuesday, February 18, 2025 from 1:00 – 1:50 pm with a service in the chapel at 2:00 pm.
