Bill Budd of Riverview passed away after a sudden illness at
the Saint John Regional Hospital on Monday, February 10, 2025 at the
age of 58. Born in New Glasgow, Nova Scotia, he is the son of Albert
and Mary Lou Budd.
Bill was
incredibly passionate about his career as a City Planner. After
obtaining his Bachelor’s Degree at Mount Allison University
and Masters of City Planning Degree at the University of Manitoba,
Bill started his career as a community planner in Manitoba.
Bill went on to work for the City of Moncton for 20 years, in which he
most recently served as the Director of Planning and Development.
Illustrative of his dedication to the profession, Bill was a member of
the Canadian Institute of Planners, the New Brunswick Association of
Planners, the Atlantic Planners Institute, and the American Planners
Association. He regularly attended professional functions across North
America to further his expertise in his practice, served as a guest
lecturer for urban planning students in the Maritimes, and organized

in his field, Bill will be remembered as an avid fisherman, a national
champion wrestler, a loyal friend, and most of all, an immensely
loving husband, father, brother, uncle, and son. He will be missed and
remembered by his wife Cynthia, son Brian, and daughter Meghan, as
well as by his immediate family: Patty and Paul Bass, and Sally, Dave,
