Dakin, William Benjamin (Bill)
Bill passed away early Friday morning March 21st 2025 at the Welland General Hospital at the age of 82. Bill will be deeply missed by his loving wife of 63 years, Arlene Dakin. Predeceased by his son Jeff Dakin. Bill was a hero to his daughter Bev (Guy) and loved by his daughter in-law Chris Dakin. A loving brother to Tom (Shirley) and predeceased by 12 brothers and sisters. Bill, better known as Papa to his grandkids Johnathan, and Ashley (Matt), and his great grandkids Colby, Emily and his “little guy” Benjamin.
Bill flew pigeons for years with his brothers (Pat and George). He worked at Atlas Steels in Welland for 30 plus years. He was a part of Sea Cadet Corps Bellerophon Marching Band for over 50 years with his brother Tommy.
Bill had a heart of gold like no one before. He loved everyone and had so much patience. His smile and never ending love will be truly missed.
The family would like to thank the Welland General Hospital (6th floor and Woolcott Wing) for their love and compassion for Bill.
