With great sadness, the family of William “Bill” Albert Gordon Norwood announces his peaceful passing on Monday, February 10, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family at the Saint John Regional Hospital at the age of 91 years. Bill was born in Gagetown, NB on May 4, 1933, the son of the late John and Edith (Russen) Norwood.
Bill loved his hockey and baseball and made sure he had season tickets to the Saint John Flames games and his marriage was always interrupted by his love for sports. Bill was a good skater in his early years and his love for skating is how he met the love of his life, Mary Jean. Bill will be forever missed by all who loved him.
Bill is survived by his loving and devoted wife Mary Jean (Creighton); his children, Scott Norwood and Stacey (Scott) Briggs; granddaughters, Chelsea (Matt Hamm) and Shannon (Alex Richard); great-grandchildren, Benson, Jaxon, Kaylyn, and Lotus; brother Robert (Betty); sisters, Helen (Bob Charles) and Donna (Lief); sister-in-law Brenda Norwood.
Predeceased by his parents and siblings, Ralph, Arnold, Marion and John.
A celebration of Bill’s life will take place at a later date. Memorial donations in his memory made to a charity of choice are appreciated.
