It is with great sorrow that the family of Wendy Bird (Hillman) announce her passing at Hospice House Fredericton on Thursday, January 23, 2025 at the age of 65.
Wendy will be remembered by her husband, Jim; daughters, Ashley Fernandes (Wayne Fernandes), Emily Sparkes (Geoff Sparkes) and Kerrie Bird (Brendon Bridges); grandchildren, Dylan Fernandes, Abigail Sparkes, Geoffrey “Pete” Sparkes and Wesley Bridges; as well as her mother, Barb Hillman and sisters, Linda Hillman, Cindy Cunningham, Patty Harris, and Barb Hillman. She was predeceased by her father, Neil Hillman and sister, Lori Saunders.
Wendy was born in Fredericton, NB on March 25th, 1959. She was the oldest of 6 daughters. Wendy was very musical; she played the piano and directed choir. Wendy loved to paint, and to travel; her favourite destination was the beach in Florida. She was a member of the Drive Baptist Church. In her later years Wendy’s favourite thing was being a grandmother to her 4 grandchildren.
We would like to thank the nurses and staff of Hospice House for excellent care. We would also like to thank Extra-Mural; particularly Nurse Ashley for taking wonderful care of Wendy.
Visitation will be held at the Drive Baptist Church, 150 Greenwood Drive, Fredericton, NB from 1 – 1:45 pm followed by the Memorial Service at 2 pm with Pastor Gordon Cook officiating. Remembrances may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice. Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
