Wendy Spencer Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Wendy Diane (Lee) Spencer, on February 26, 2025, at the Saint John Regional Hospital, surrounded by her loving family, after a courageous battle with Ovarian Cancer. She was born on December 10, 1964, to her parents, Edward and Linda (Thorne) Lee and was the loving partner of 34 years to Vincent Melvin.
Wendy worked as a hairstylist for 25 years in the Saint John Area at her own salon called “The Beauty Nook” and through this she made many lifelong friends. Wendy could make friends with anyone she wanted to, wherever she went. After she left her hairstyling career, she decided to open her own Wellness Center, called Seahorse Wellness and Laser Center. She was very sociable, loving, caring and loved to help people and take care of them. She was a good listener and could be the greatest confidante that you’d ever meet. She never judged and gave great advice. She enjoyed gardening and reading and journaling, but her friends and family were the greatest gifts she ever received. She will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved her.
In addition to her parents and partner, Vincent, she is survived by her sons, Jason (Melanie) Spencer and Luke Melvin; daughter, Jenna (Mark) Spencer; 5 grandchildren, Riley, Bradley, Dawson, Alivia and Emma Rose; brothers, Edward “Eddie” and Dwayne Lee; as well as sister, Janet Ring and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Her family wishes to take this opportunity to thank the doctors, nurses and staff of the Palliative Care Unit at the Saint John Regional Hospital for the excellent care, compassion and kindness provided to Wendy over the last few weeks.
Arrangements are entrusted to Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (506-646-2424), where visitation will be held on Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8pm. A celebration of life will take place on Monday, March 3, 2025, at 1pm from the Fundy Funeral Home Chapel. A private interment will take place in the spring. For those who wish, memorial donations in Wendy’s memory to Ovarian Cancer Canada, or to the charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by her family.
