Obituary of Wayne Tratechaud
It is with broken hearts, we announce the peaceful passing of Wayne, surrounded by his loving and devoted family at the age of 81, on July 26, 2025. Beloved wife of 30 years to Dorothy (nee Landauer). Cherished father of Cheryl Tratechaud (Kelly), Jeff Thurlow (Jennifer), John Rivait (Erica) Brenda Chauvin (Bob)(Andy Bonnett, 2022), and Renee Rivait. Proud Papa of Kevin, Rachel, Dillon, Lily, Paige, Logan, Kendra (Bobby), Tyler (Courtney), Bradley (Alex), Jayden, Justin, and great-papa of Spencer, Andrew, and Wyatt. Dear brother of Doreen Ulch (Karl, 1973), David (Carmen), Roger (Maxine), Glen Kirkpatrick (Val), Colleen Cowin (Allan), and brother-in law of Linda Azzopardi (Mario). Wayne will be missed by many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends, as well as his beloved furry companion Lucy.
Wayne was a friend to all. He was always ready to lend a hand to those who needed his help. He had a gift for fixing just about anything, and he did so with a smile and generous spirit.
Wayne was a proud member of the Windsor Yacht Club since 1985. He was also an avid Euchre Player with the Club League along with his daughter Cheryl.
Wayne’s true passions were cars and racing. A lifelong enthusiast, he especially loved vintage cars and his Corvette. He could often be found under the hood, with his son Jeff, or cheering on his favourite drivers in NASCAR and drag racing events. Whether at the track or in his garage, Wayne found joy in horsepower and high-speed thrills.
The family would like to thank the staff and doctors of Hospice of Windsor for their exceptional care and compassion. Memorial Visitation will take place at WINDSOR CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME – BANWELL CHAPEL, 11677 Tecumseh Rd. E. (519-253-7235) on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, from 3-5 pm and 7-9 pm. A private family Service will take place.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Wayne to the Hospice of Windsor . Online condolences and cherished memories may be shared with the family at www.windsorchapel.com
