Obituary of Warren “Pat” Killeleagh
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Pat Killeleagh. Pat peacefully left us in his 94th year on Tuesday, March 4 at Victoria Hospital.
Pat lived a life that many can only aspire to live. He was passionate about his family, his friendships, his hobbies and his career. He put his energy, time and heart into all four areas and was loved by all those who knew him. After a short career as a boxer, Pat married his wife Wanda at the age of 20 years and moved from Brantford to London. They built a life together that would soon include their son Brad and daughter Brenda. Pat was a loving father to his children and exuded such patience that without complaint he calmly replaced the same windowpane for the second time after Brad and his friends accidentally shot hockey pucks through it.
At this time, Pat began a career with 3M that would span 40 years until his retirement at the age of 60. Pat always smiled when he recalled the friendships he had made during that time. He enjoyed his work so much that Pat proudly claimed he had never missed a day. While raising a growing family and working at 3M, Pat began working for the London Knights as an assistant trainer. He was passionate about the game of Hockey and it brought him such joy to be a part of the game. He would remain working with the London Knights for 25 years. Despite his commitments to 3M and London Knights, Pat made his family and friendships a priority. Neighbourhood gatherings and trips to the lake were the fuel that kept friendships going for decades. After retirement, Pat kept himself busy with woodworking, annual family trips to Florida, his grandchildren’s sports games, and sitting on the porch watching sports on the television. Wanda and Pat lived in the same house, in the same neighbourhood for over 70 years. They were well known in their neighbourhood and often people would stop over for a chat on the porch.
Pat will be greatly missed by his wife Wanda; his son Brad (Kathy); daughter Brenda; grandchildren Erin (Andrei), Stephanie (Tom), Bryan (Jen) and Chris; and great grand-children, Ethan, Preston, Brooke, Mason and Bianca. Cremation has taken place, and a memorial graveside service will be held in July.
Arrangements entrusted to Evans Funeral Home, 648 Hamilton Road, London, Ontario (519-451-9350). Online condolences can be expressed at www.evansfh.ca
A tree will be planted, by the Evans Funeral Home, as a living memorial to Warren “Pat” Killeleagh (Pat Kelly).
