Ward, Wallace John ‘Wally’
Wally left us suddenly on the morning of January 24, 2025 in his 73rd year.
He was the beloved husband of Nancy for almost 51 years.
Predeceased by his parents Wallace and Marion Ward, and by his sister Shirley Anne.
He will be missed by many family members and friends. His nieces Lex and Elliat will miss his hugs and quirky sense of humour. Also left behind is his Bearded Collie Broghan who brought him great joy every day.
Wally worked from 1973-2013 for AO Smith (GSW) in Fergus.
Retirement brought him to Meaford; a favourite spot, to pursue his lifelong passion for fishing.
Special thanks and gratitude to Dr. Burke and the amazing team of nurses and tech staff at the Home Hemodialysis Unit at Grand River Hospital in Kitchener for five years of support. Special thanks also to Dan and Shawn for being great listeners and friends. Also, to the Smith’s for all the great breakfast outings, they meant so much.
Wally wished no service or gathering. Cremation has taken place and scattering of his ashes will happen at a later date.
As your expression of sympathy, donations to The Home Hemodialysis Unit at Grand River Hospital or The Kidney Foundation would be appreciated and may be made through the Ferguson Funeral Home, 48 Boucher St. E., Meaford, ON N4L 1B9 to whom arrangements have been entrusted. www.fergusonfuneralhomes.ca
