Walter Jacob Friesen Obituary
Walter Jacob Friesen, cherished husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather passed away peacefully, with his family by his side on March 21, 2025.
Walt is lovingly remembered by his wife of over 65 years, Lily, daughter Kathleen (Rod) Dueck, son-in-law Keith (Marisol)
Reycraft, grandchildren Alanna (Tyler), Cam, Brendan, Lauren and Jesse. He also cherished his great grandchildren Lily and Beckett. Walt is rejoicing in heaven with his daughter, Cheryl (2013).
Also missing him are his sisters Lena and Justina and in-laws Frieda, Susie, Irene, Anita, Ewald (Betty Ann), Vic (Jeanne).
Walt is predeceased by brothers Jake and John and sisters Sarah (Fred, John) and Irma (Frank), in-laws Johnny, Henry, Elsie (Hank).
Family was one of Walt’s great joys and he loved every opportunity to spend time with them. Dad will always be remembered by his welcoming smile and how he made you feel so important. He was a gentle man who led by example and was always ready to serve in whatever capacity was needed. He was so happy to help others with the gifts he was given and looked for ways to do so. He leaves behind a legacy of faith, love and joy, and his memories will encourage us to strive to live our faith in everything we do.
Special thanks to the UM Home in Vineland for the wonderful care that they gave dad, and all who came to visit him there.
Visitation will take place at Tallman Funeral Chapel at 3327 King St, Vineland from 2-4:00pm, and 6-7:30 pm on Monday, Mar 24. Funeral service will be at Vineland United Mennonite Church, 3327 Menno St, Vineland, at 11:00 am on Tuesday, March 25.
In lieu of flowers, donations would be appreciated to Mennonite Disaster Service, or Mennonite Central Committee.
