Wallace Ian Welbanks

Entered into eternal rest during the late hours of Monday night, March 31, 2025, at the age of 88. Wally Welbanks, beloved husband of Lorraine Mary (nee Favro). Wally will be deeply missed by their children Linda (Vito), David (Annick) and Sharon (Peter), and by their 7 grandchildren.
Wally was born in Toronto, the son of Arthur and Marguerite Welbanks. He grew up in a home on Fairlawn Avenue with his younger brother Dennis.
Wally and Lorraine met in 1953. Wally was the delivery boy for the local butcher and the rest is history. They were married in 1960 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, and would have celebrated their 65th Wedding Anniversary this September.
Wally was a Banker most of his life, and he loved to talk about finances. He loved to tell jokes and he had a well-known sense of humour.
Wally was proud of his children and the lives they created for themselves, and he enjoyed telling his grandchildren stories about “the good old days”. He was an active member of his church in his younger years, and gave of his time to the Knights of Columbus.
The family of Wally Welbanks will receive friends at the WAGG FUNERAL HOME, 216 Queen Street in Port Perry (905-985-2171) on Thursday, April 3rd from 6 – 8 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 1710 Scugog Street (Hwy 7A) in Port Perry on Friday, April 4th at 11 a.m. with Father Silva officiating. Private interment Resurrection Catholic Cemetery. If desired, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Lung Association or the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Canada.
