Wai Hing Sew passed away peacefully in the presence of her family on January 20, 2025, at the Edmonton General Continuing Care Centre.
Hing Sew was born on April 12, 1931, in ZhongShan, Guangdong. She later moved to Hong Kong and married Chan Sic Chou.
Hing Sew came to Edmonton, Alberta, Canada in 1983. Her journey to Canada was one of courage and sacrifice. Despite not knowing any English, she uprooted her life to support her children in building a better future. Her bravery in facing unfamiliar challenges, unwavering determination, exceptional work ethic, and dedication to her family remain a legacy we will carry forward.
She is survived by her nine children: Yuet Kwai, Andy, Yuet Ngor, Ming Yat, Francis, Immanuel, Simon, Dale, and Benny, along with their spouses; 18 cherished grandchildren; and a host of great-grandchildren and extended family members.
Her strong spirit will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
