It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Vlado Cvitko at the age of 87. Vlado passed away peacefully, just three weeks after the loss of his beloved wife, Katica, with whom he shared 62 years of love, companionship, and adventures. Together, they built a life full of cherished memories and lasting friendships, both in Canada and Croatia.
Vlado was a renowned accordion player, known for his dedication to the Croatian community through his music. For many years, he played with the well-known Croatian band, Zvuci Hrvatske, and had the privilege of performing alongside numerous respected musicians from his homeland. His love for music was a significant part of his identity, and his contributions to the Croatian music scene will be remembered by all who had the pleasure of listening to him.
Beyond his musical talent, Vlado was a man of many passions. He was highly active in sports, enjoying soccer, tennis, hockey, skiing, and more throughout his life. Whether on the field, the court, or the slopes, Vlado embraced life with enthusiasm and vigor, sharing his joy for sports with friends and family alike.
Together with Katica, Vlado enjoyed a life filled with travel, exploring new places, and creating lasting memories with a wide circle of friends. His love for life and his zest for adventure were infectious, and his presence brought warmth and joy to all who knew him.
Vlado will be deeply missed by his friends, and all who had the privilege of crossing paths with him. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved him and in the beautiful music he leaves behind.
Rest in peace, Vlado. You will be missed but never forgotten.
