Peacefully in his 99th year, surrounded by his family, Vinicio Memme was taken to heaven in the arms of his angels. Reunited with his “honey” Antonia (nee Martelli) for 65 loving years. Cherished Father “Pops, Dad” of Claudio(Roslynn), Luciano(Teresa), and Marc(Carolyn). Adored Nonno of Jessica Hallman(Bill) and Joseph Memme. Proud BisNonno of Kyle, Alexis and William. Devoted son of the late Florindo and Lucia Memme. He is predeceased by his brothers and sisters Luigi(Adelina), Christina Stinziani(Luigi), Giulio(Carmela), Violetta Battistella(Paolo) and Nicola(Amalia). Son-in-law of the late Nicola and Christina Martelli. Brother-in-law of the late Paolo Martelli(Antonietta) and Teresa Pasquini(the late Carmen) of Italy. Vinicio will be missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbours, and friends in Canada, Italy, and USA. Especially his niece Lina Battistella and his neighbours Brian and Lynn Holding and Chelsea White who checked on Vinnie on a daily basis and provided meals and numerous lottery scratch tickets on his table. All Vinicio wanted was his home filled with family and friends. He was a retired labourer at Stelco Hilton for 32 years. He enjoyed gardening, playing Bocce ball, and he was a member of Sackville Seniors Club enjoying playing cards. Thank you to all the PSWs who came to his home to care for him especially, Claudine and nurse Tristan. Thank you to the staff on the 5th Floor, Mary Grace Wing at St. Joseph’s Hospital. Visitation will be held at P.X. DERMODY FUNERAL HOME, 796 Upper Gage Ave. (Between Mohawk and Fennell) on Thursday February 20, 2025 from 4-9 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 50 Brucedale Ave. E., on Friday February 21, 2025 at 10:30 a.m. Entombment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of your choice.
