Veronica Kennedy (Gladish)
November 11, 1943 – January 16, 2025
With a heavy heart, I have to announce the death of my dear wife, Veronica, known to most as Ronnie. Mother to four great kids: Ted McAuley (Karen), Anne McAuley (Hayden), Siobhan McAuley (Jon) and Jenny Gladish (Glen). Grandmother to Kenya. Former wife of Patrick McAuley. Wife to me, Robert, for nearly 45 years. She was the first-born child of John (Jack) and Marguerite (Madge) Kennedy; sister to the late John Kennedy (Karyn), the late Stephen Kennedy (Sharon) and Micheal Kennedy (Jane).
Ronnie’s life was a tale of two cities, growing up and spending the first half of her life in Toronto, attending high school at Loretto Abbey and graduating from York University, Glendon College, then moving to Hamilton for the latter half of her life. In addition, she took great pride in building our retirement home together on Manitoulin Island.
Mostly, she was a sea of tranquility, taking life’s many ups and downs with calm acceptance, never losing her sense of humour and childlike wonderment.
A celebration of life is taking place. In lieu of flowers, a donation to St. Joseph’s Healthcare Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
