On Wednesday, February 12, 2025 in her 59th year, Lori-Ann VanderBeek took her last breath in her worldly home, left her broken body behind and took the hand of Jesus.
Lori-Ann VanderBeek was the cherished daughter of the late Diane and Ben VanderBeek, the sister of Jack (Darlene), Wilma (Chris) Koziello, and Fred (Jeannine). Lori also leaves behind her nephews and nieces: Tiffany (Tim) Barnes, Tania (Scott) Comeau, Alicia (Ryan) Armstrong, Adam (Alicia) Koziello, Larissa VanderBeek, and Emily VanderBeek (Conrad). Lori hadn’t yet met her freshest great-niece Peyton, but just as she loved Berkley, Brinley, Riley, Lorelei, Taylor, Nora, Myla and Ellie, Auntie Lori will be watching over little Peyton now too.
Everyone who knew her will miss her smile and laughter, her ability to sing exactly like Alvin and the Chipmunks, her love of peppy music and the humour of Mr. Bean, and especially her sense of adventure. Lori has dipped her toes in the Florida sand, beat everyone’s score in both bowling and darts, gone swimming in any pool she could find, sat on Santa’s lap more than once, danced at weddings, held all the babies and made sure her coffee breaks were taken on time.
In her prime, Lori was a Special Olympian and delivered flyers in town with Supported Employment, she helped clean dance studios, serve coffee in Grandview Lodge’s tuck shop, and fold bulletins for the church. Everyone in the family has a Lori story, and we are indebted to her for her lessons of patience and courage. Her spirit will continue to guide and inspire all who were fortunate enough to know her.
Lori’s family would like to thank the entire staff of Grandview Lodge and St. Joseph’s Dialysis for caring for and nurturing our sister. She loved you all.
The family will honour Lori’s life with visitation at JW Hart Funeral Home in Dunnville on Wednesday February 19th from 7:00 to 9:00 pm with funeral service following on Thursday February 20th at 11:00 am. Interment Woodlawn Cemetery, Dunnville. Online condolences jwhartfuneralhome.com
