Whitney, Tyrone Garfield “Goof” – It is with deep sadness the family announce the passing of Goof Whitney, in his 85th year, at Victoria Manor on Wednesday, May 14, 2025. Beloved husband of the late Sandra (née Armstrong). Loving Dad to Melinda Whitney, and Teresa James. Cherished Papa to Natasha Johnston (Bill), Alyssa Haddlesey (Jeremy Windrem), and Jesse James (Danielle Bertrand). Great-Papa to Adley, and Rowan Johnston. Predeceased by his parents; May Magee, and Joseph Whitney, and brother; Gary Whitney. Dear brother to Lynda Hum (Terry and the late Kenny Hum), and David Magee (Lori). Survived by sister-in-law; Dorothy Whitney. Goof will be remembered by former son-in-law; Dan Haddlesey, many nieces, nephews, extended family, chosen family, and friends at the Coach. A Celebration of Life will take place at the Omemee Legion, Branch 497 on Saturday, June 28th from 1:00pm until 8:00pm. Please bring any stories, and memories that you would like to share. In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation can be made to the Omemee Legion, which would be appreciated by the family.
