Trudy Wankel Obituary
Trudy Lee Wankel passed away on December 24, 2024, at the Legacy Lodge in Lethbridge AB at the age of 65 years.
Trudy was born on March 12, 1959, to Wesley and Kathleen Wankel in North Battleford SK. She was raised in several communities in northern Saskatchewan until moving to Regina and then to Lethbridge in 1974.
Trudy is survived by her father Wesley Wankel of Chilliwack BC; brother Randy Wankel (Judy) of Victoria BC and their son James (Lindsay); sisters Colleen Perry (Craig) of North Vancouver BC and their sons Mark Perry (Kelly) and Tim Perry (Hillary); Elaine Nakonechny (Darryl) of Lethbridge and their daughter Kira Martindale (Pat); and son Kevin Nakonechny (Kendal) and Michelle Diehl (Leighton) of Victoria and their daughter Kayleah Diehl. She is also survived by nine great nieces and nephews as well as extended family.
Trudy was predeceased by her mother Kathleen; brother Wesley Scott; niece Susanna Wankel, and stepmother Joan Wankel.
Trudy liked to watch the Blue Jays baseball games on TV, play bingo and earlier in her life go bowling. She loved animals, in particular her cats Blackie and Whisper.
The family would like to thank the various organizations and care givers that assisted Trudy during her life and in particular the compassionate staff at Legacy Lodge where she lived her final years.
Trudy will be laid to rest during a private family Interment at the Mountain View Cemetery.
