Trent Sappier
1968-2025
Following a brief illness, Trent Bennett Sappier of Tobique First
Nation, NB, passed away peacefully at the Dr. Everett Chalmers
Regional Hospital on May 10, 2025.
Trent was born in Perth-Andover, NB, on August 16, 1968. He was the
son of the late Clarence and Carolyn (Tomah) Sappier. Trent leaves
behind his daughter, Tiara Sappier (Larry Sockabasin) of Tobique First
Nation, NB; his sons, Philip Sappier of Tobique Narrows, NB, and Trent
Sappier Jr. “T.J.” of Tobique First Nation, NB; his partner,
Tiffany Perley of Tobique First Nation, NB; his grandchildren, Kolton
Perley, Seth Sappier, Karalyn Sappier, Patience Sappier, Violet
Sappier, Hudson Sockabasin, and Reign Sockabasin; his sisters, Tammy
Sappier (Prudent Hachey), and Audra Sappier (Mike Caron), both of
Tobique First Nation, NB; his nieces and nephews, Mallory Sappier,
Jayson Sappier, Jaxsen Sappier, Kristen Deveau, Abby Sappier, Anthony
Sappier, Crystal Sappier, Carissa Sappier, Hunter Sappier, Timmy
Sappier-Sisson, Kaylee Paul, and Carol Ann Paul; his Godmother,
Valerie Francis; and his Godchildren, Corey Nicholas, Thomas Sappier,
Timmy Sappier-Sisson, Carissa Sappier, and Elizabeth Sappier; and the
members of his bonus family, Bennett Sacobie, Tyra Sacobie, Farrah
Sacobie, Shady Sacobie, and Zorro Sacobie.
Trent was predeceased by his parents; his sister, Monica Sappier; his
brothers, Tony Sappier and Vinal Paul.
Trent worked in carpentry and was a hard worker. He loved helping out
other people whenever they needed an helping hand. He enjoyed many
outdoor activities, especially hunting. His favorite place to be was
at his camp.
Resting at the Paul Pyres Community Hall at Tobique First Nation, NB,
with visitation starting at 12 noon on Monday and going until 1:45 pm
on Wednesday. A traditional service will be held on Wednesday, May 14,
2025 at 2 pm at the Paul Pyres Community Hall. Father Curtis Sappier
will be taking part in the service. Interment will be in St. Ann’s
Catholic Cemetery at a later date.
For those who wish, memorial donations to the Tobique First Nation
Food Bank would be appreciated by the family.
