Tony Falkner Obituary
Tony Falkner, age 89, of Tavistock and formerly of Ingersoll, passed away peacefully on
Wednesday, March 12, 2025.
Born in Aldershot, England on June 20, 1935, son of the late Jack
and Florence Falkner.
Besides his parents, Tony was predeceased by his brother John.
Tony is survived by his loving wife Rosemary, whom he married on October 24, 1959 in
Betchworth, UK, daughters Jennifer (Rob) and Tani, grandchildren Erica, Sarah, Isaac, John,
Vienna, Edin and Sheridyn and Great Grampa to Eleanor and Simone.
Tony was a police constable in the UK and immigrated to Canada in 1960. He became a police
officer in London, Ontario, received his BA in Theology/Hebrew Studies from Huron College,
worked for the Social Services Department with the City of London, was a Sobriety and
Addictions Counsellor at Westover Recovery Centre and became an Anglican Minister presiding
at several rural churches.
Tony celebrated his 47th AA “birthday” in February 2025.
He was a voracious reader, prolific speaker, who was always learning and reading. He loved
jazz, classical and big band music, enjoyed day trips and exploring Ontario with his family and
Rosemary in later years. Other interests included watching PGA golf, F1 and Mosport car
racing, his beloved Blue Jays, visits from the grand-fur babies, collecting books and vintage
records, motorcycles, wood-working and photography.
A private family service will be held at the W. G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron Street,
Stratford with interment in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Ingersoll. As expressions of sympathy,
memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society Southwest Partners – Oxford Office
or the Oxford County Animal Rescue through the funeral home. 519.271.7411
